Lancaster, CA (October 29, 2023) An 11-year-old boy was struck and injured by a vehicle while riding his scooter on Friday night, October 27th, in Lancaster. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Avenue H-14 and Fifth Street East.
The boy was riding his scooter in Lancaster when he attempted to cross the street. A black vehicle drove into the intersection as the boy crossed, according to a sheriff’s department spokesperson. The black vehicle hit the boy and then fled the scene.

A second vehicle driving in the same area was hit either by the suspect who fled the scene or by debris from the crash. The driver of this vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The only detail the driver could give was that the suspect was driving a black vehicle.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and called for an air ambulance to come and quickly transport the boy to a local hospital. He was listed in critical but stable condition by hospital staff.
Authorities investigated the scene to receive any information that could help catch the suspect who hit the boy. This investigation is ongoing.
