PIEDMONT, CA (NOVEMBER 10, 2023): A truck driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two Piedmont residences in a suspected DUI this week.
The Piedmont Police Department reports that the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8th. A truck driver with a forklift attached to his vehicle slammed between two homes in the area of 1100 block of Park Lane, near Oakland Davie Tennis Stadium. The driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle while under the influence of narcotics, ending up in the foliage of the yards of the Piedmont houses.

Fortunately no injuries were reported. However, damaged sustained to either homes was not immediately disclosed.
Emergency personnel responded to the Piedmont area shortly after receiving reports, and discovered the large truck and forklift stuck in between the homes. The Piedmont officers then approached the driver, who exhibited symptoms of being under the influence of narcotics. At the discretion of authorities, the man was arrested. He is currently booked into Santa Rita jail under suspicion of DUI.
Authorities then searched the truck of the man, discovering a gram of suspected black tar heroin and drug paraphernalia. This further confirmed their suspicions of DUI in this collision.
The Piedmont Police Department will continue to investigate this DUI collision into Piedmont residences.
