Bicyclist Struck And Seriously Injured In Placer County Hit-And-Run

Bicyclist killed in Los Angeles hit-and-run crash.

Placer County, CA (January 31, 2024) A bicycle ride on Crosby Herold Road ended with life-threatening injuries for one person in Placer County on Tuesday afternoon. The hit-and-run accident happened on southbound Crosby Herold Road at the intersection of Wise Road, according to authorities.

It happened just before 1:30 p.m. on January 30th as the bicyclist rode down the street, as they had done many times before. A vehicle approached the bicyclist and ended up hitting them, reports indicate. The impact of the collision threw the bicyclist onto the road, where they laid with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle continued driving, leaving the bicyclist injured and alone in the eastbound lane of Wise Road.

Paramedics rushed to give life-saving aid to the bicyclist before transporting them to a local hospital with “major life-threatening injuries,” according to the California Highway Patrol. However, as of Wednesday morning, officials believe the bicyclist will survive this horrible accident.

Officers are asking for help in finding the vehicle that hit the bicyclist. They said they are looking for a silver sedan that no longer has a right front mirror, due to the collision. It could also have possible right side damage from where it struck the bicyclist, officers said. The investigation is ongoing, according to officers.
