Modesto, CA (February 14, 2024) A quiet intersection was suddenly filled with sirens as emergency personnel rushed to an accident in Modesto. A man was critically injured and found pinned inside his vehicle at the intersection of Rose Avenue and East Briggsmore Avenue in Modesto, authorities reported. The traumatic accident occurred on Tuesday, February 6th, at approximately 9:30 p.m. and police officers believe it was caused by a drunk driver.
A man from Stockton was the sole occupant of a Ford Fiesta as he headed through the intersection at East Briggsmore Avenue and Rose Avenue. Suddenly, as he entered the intersection, a Kia Optima appeared and the two vehicles collided, according to the Modesto Police Department.
Emergency personnel arrived and found the man’s Ford completely smashed and destroyed with the man pinned inside. Firefighters with the Modesto Fire Department used specialized hydraulic tools to free the man, who sustained critical injuries. He was carefully placed on a gurney and rushed to a Modesto hospital in the area to receive treatment.
