Redwood City, CA (March 7, 2024) Tragedy struck on El Camino Real when a 38-year-old woman lost her life to a hit-and-run driver in Redwood City. According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd.
It was the middle of the night as the woman walked along El Camino Real. As she walked in the 700 block, near Brewster Avenue, a vehicle approached her and suddenly struck her. The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop or even slow down, but instead, kept driving until they were out of sight. The woman was left alone with life-threatening injuries, officers said.
Paramedics were ready to administer life-saving techniques, but they found the woman already deceased. Sadly, they pronounced her dead at the scene and waited for the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office to claim the victim’s body.

The fatal hit-and-run collision is being investigated and detectives are determined to find the vehicle that struck this woman and fled. By finding the vehicle, they also plan to find the driver and bring them to justice. Fleeing the scene of a crime, especially when you have hit someone, is illegal.
