Llano, CA (March 10, 2024) Pearblossom Highway, also known as State Route 138, was the scene of a destructive two-vehicle accident that claimed a life on Friday, March 8th. 56-year-old Vanessa Taylor did not survive this fatal collision, officers said. It all happened minutes before 11:30 a.m. near Antelope Highway (State Route 18), according to officers.
A white Audi sedan and a white pickup truck were both driving on Pearblossom Highway when they suddenly collided, officers said. The force from the collision caused the Audi to go off the road and onto the shoulder. The driver of the Audi became trapped inside the vehicle.
Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found the two vehicles with severe damage, officers said. Firefighters rushed to free the driver of the Audi who was in critical condition following the crash. Police officers requested a medical helicopter to come to the scene and take the seriously injured driver to a hospital. Sadly, Taylor passed away before any of this could happen and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A tow truck was also called to the scene to remove the badly damaged Audi from the shoulder of the highway. Crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris and glass from the highway as investigators gathered evidence at the scene. They are determined to learn what caused this accident and who was at fault.
