Montecito, CA (March 18, 2024) It was the middle of the night in Montecito when two vehicles collided, head-on, on Highway 101. Three people were left with injuries following this crash. It happened near the Hot Springs Road off-ramp in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, according to officers.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., a tan Chevy Suburban and a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crashed into each other on Highway 101. Fire Battalion Chief Jeremy Denton said they arrived to find the pickup truck on its side following the crash.
Montecito firefighters arrived at the scene and found three people with injuries. They were all placed inside an AMR ambulance and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital to receive treatment for injuries, some of which were serious.
Officers are investigating this collision to determine what exactly took place on Highway 101 to cause this head-on crash. They are also hoping to determine who was at fault for this accident that left three people injured.
