2 Children, 1 Adult Killed, Several Injured In Traumatic I-15 Collision In Baker

Woman struck and killed by vehicle while walking in Anaheim.

Baker, CA (March 31, 2025) Tragedy struck on Interstate 15 near Baker on Easter weekend in the form of a traumatic head-on collision. Two children and one adult lost their lives in this head-on crash on Saturday afternoon, March 30th. Another woman, the mother of  the two children, was possibly paralyzed in this accident and a 3-year-old was found with a severed arm. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. near the Halloran Springs off-ramp, according to police officers. Witnesses at the scene were said to be distraught and traumatized following this horrible collision.

It all started when a black Mercedes-Benz SUV was traveling south on Interstate 15 and suddenly drifted into the northbound lanes. It then hit another SUV head-on, according to police officers. The vehicles were both traveling at high rates of speed which made the accident deadly and traumatic.

Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found the two vehicles with severe damage. Paramedics rushed to give aid to anyone in need and were sickened and heartbroken by what they found. Two children had been killed in the crash and were, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene. San Bernardino County Fire Spokesperson, Jeremy Kern, said that a 40-year-old woman, the mother of the children, was possibly paralyzed in this collision. A helicopter was requested for her, but officials said it was later canceled and she was listed in grave condition.

Paramedics also rushed a 3-year-old child to a local hospital with a severed arm and said four others sustained serious injuries in this accident. Three other people sustained less serious injuries and paramedics sent several people to hospitals for treatment.

Officers at the scene worked diligently to determine what happened on Interstate 15 that caused this deadly collision in Baker. The investigation is ongoing as they work to understand this traumatic collision that ruined so many lives. Officers want to remind drivers to use caution on the roads, especially during holiday weekends when traffic can be at its highest.
