North Las Vegas, Nevada (April 9, 2024) A head-on collision in North Las Vegas claimed a woman’s life and seriously injured three others. The North Las Vegas Police Department reported that the accident took place on Camino Al Norte, not far from Lone Mountain Road. The head-on crash happened on Monday evening, April 8th, right at 6:00 p.m.
A white Honda Civic was heading north on Camino Al Norte as a gray Kia Forte drove south on the same road. Suddenly, for reasons still unknown, the Honda veered into the southbound lane and into oncoming traffic. The Kia Forte saw the Honda but had no time to react. Before anyone knew what was happening, the two vehicles collided, head-on in the southbound lane of Camino Al Norte.
The North Las Vegas Police Department arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles in the middle of the road with major body damage. They called for paramedics to arrive at the scene as they rushed to help anyone who needed it. Sadly, they found that the driver of the Honda, a woman in her 20s, was killed in this crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene and officials called the coroner.
The Kia had three occupants who were all injured during the accident. The driver of the Kia and one of the passengers both sustained life-threatening injuries and a second passenger had non-life-threatening injuries. All three were rushed to a local hospital to receive emergency medical treatment, according to officers.
Officers investigated the scene to determine what exactly happened happened. However, they do not believe that drugs, alcohol or even speed were factors in this deadly accident. The investigation remains ongoing and officers have asked that anyone with information contact the Las Vegas Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
