Henry Chan Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Rowland Heights

Two killed, another seriously injured in east Las Vegas crash.

Rowland Heights, CA (May 21, 2024) Sadness flooded the community of Rowland Heights as news spread of an elderly man’s sudden and tragic death. 86-year-old  Henry Chan was struck by a vehicle while walking at 5:50 a.m. near Fullerton Road and Colima Road.

Chan was walking in the darkness of early morning on Tuesday, May 21st, when a vehicle came driving down the road. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle struck Chan, knocking him to the ground with great force. The driver of the vehicle stopped and stayed with Chan as they waited for authorities to arrive.

The California Highway Patrol hurried to the scenes, emergency lights flashing in the early morning darkness. They arrived at the scene and found Chan lying on the ground. They rushed to give him life-saving treatment, but he had already succumbed to his injuries. Sadly, they pronounced 86-year-old Henry Chan dead at the scene and waited for the coroner to arrive.

Police officers began gathering evidence and are continuing to work on this case. They are certain to learn what caused this fatal pedestrian accident in Rowland Heights. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the California Highway Patrol.
