IRVINE, CA (JULY 22, 2023): 87-year-old Maria Servas was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street in Irvine Friday evening, according to the Irvine Police Department. Servas was walking northbound on the crosswalk of Marketplace when the black Jeep Wrangler, traveling westbound, fatally struck her.

Paramedics arrived to the scene at approximately 7:45 p.m., where Servas was pronounced dead. The authorities report that the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
