Lake Elsinore, CA (June 6, 2024) The community of Lake Elsinore was left in disbelief following the tragic accident of a 9-year-old girl at the Motorsports Park. The traumatic accident occurred right around 10:00 a.m. and left Brooke Carlton with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, she passed away at the hospital nearly an hour and a half after the accident, according to reports.
Families were at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park on Sunday morning, as people of all ages enjoyed the track. 9-year-old Brooke Carlton was riding an electric motorbike along the trail when another child, also on a motorbike, crashed into her. The impact threw Carlton from her motorbike and she landed on the ground, unconscious. Good Samaritans at the Motorsports Park performed lie-saving treatment on her until authorities arrived.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene and found a crowd of people, who were all surrounding the girl. Carlton was rushed to a local hospital where they did everything they could to save the girl’s life. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital an hour and a half after the accident occurred.
The other child involved in the accident sustained minor injuries in the collision and was treated by paramedics at the scene, officers said. Police officers are not sure exactly what happened to cause this collision between the two motorbikes, but they are continuing to investigate this accident, as an entire community mourns.
