Fountain Valley, CA (June 12, 2024) A motorcyclist was injured in a collision while riding along Interstate 405, near Warner Avenue, on Tuesday morning. Reports indicated that the motorcycle collided with a tractor trailer truck in the southbound lanes of the freeway at approximately 7:34 a.m. on June 11th.
The two vehicles were traveling south on the 405 Freeway when they collided for unknown reasons. The force from the collision knocked the motorcycle over, sending it and the rider sliding until they stopped in the slow lane of the freeway. The truck driver immediately stopped, officers reported, and four other vehicles pulled over to the side of the freeway to call for help and offer assistance.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene quickly and found the truck and four vehicles stopped at the scene. Officers had to close lanes Nos. 4, 5, and 6 and issued a SigAlert. The motorcyclist was on the ground with serious injuries, according to reports. Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed to the motorcyclist’s side. The motorcyclist was placed in the ambulance and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for undisclosed injuries.
While at the scene, officers gathered evidence and worked to determine what caused this accident on the 405 Freeway. They are also determined to decipher who was at fault in this collision in Fountain Valley. Debris had to be swept from the freeway and the motorcycle was hauled away from the scene, officers said.
