San Jose, CA (June 12, 2024) One person was injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning, June 12th, in San Jose. Officers with the California Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place on Highway 17, near Interstate 280 right around 8:21 a.m. Reports indicated that four vehicles were involved in this accident.
Vehicles headed to and from their destinations on Wednesday morning as traffic became heavier throughout San Jose. a black Land Rover SUV, a red Tesla Model Y, a gray Subaru and one other vehicle were all heading along Highway 17 when they collided. Officers reported that they believe this accident was a chain-of-reaction crash, however they are still investigating and working to determine exactly what happened.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the four vehicles with damage blocking lanes of the highway. They went from vehicle to vehicle checking to see if anyone was in need of medical assistance and found one person with non-life-threatening injuries. They took the victim to Kaiser Permanent San Jose Medical Center, via ambulance, to receive treatment.
Detectives gathered evidence at the scene and took statements from those involved, as well as witnesses. They are working to determine what caused this accident on Highway 17 and who was at fault. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove at least one vehicle with major front-end damage following the collision.
