13 Hospitalized in Escondido Crash at Juniper St.

1 Injured in Tustin crash on I-5 in Orange County.

Escondido, CA (June 14, 2024) A shocking number of people were impacted by a two-car collision in Escondido on Thursday afternoon. 13 people sustained injuries from the crash. All were taken to the hospital.

The Escondido Police Department reports that the crash occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Juniper Street and Second Avenue. Other details have yet to be revealed as the investigation continues. The crash occurred when a white passenger van ran into another vehicle.

Sgt. Lee Stewart from the Escondido Police Department said that after the initial collision, the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle. The van, which was apparently full of passengers, slammed into a commercial structure.

The building the van plowed into is the workplace for a car insurance company and a dental office. It is called the Love Insurance Building, and it sustained moderate damage from the crash.

Emergency medical personnel fled to the scene to check on the injured. They decided that 13 people needed to go to a hospital. Details on the condition of each victim is not yet available.
