Los Alamos, CA (June 14, 2024) A tragic two-vehicle collision occurred in Los Alamos on Thursday afternoon, claiming one life and injuring four others. The deadly accident took place on Highway 101, not far from Highway 135, right around 4:30 p.m. The collision left one of the victims with serious injuries, reports indicated. Another victim in the collision was an infant, who was rushed to a local hospital.

Highway 101 in Los Alamos was the scene of a fatal collision on Thursday afternoon. Initial reports indicated that two vehicles were traveling along Highway 101 when they suddenly collided. The cause of this two-vehicle collision is still unknown, but the vehicles ended up blocking lanes of the highway and debris was thrown in every direction, littering the roadway, according to reports. Somehow, during all the chaos, someone called 911.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles, badly damaged, on the roadway. Paramedics hurried to the vehicles, ready to give medical attention to anyone who had been injured. Sadly, they found one person who had sustained fatal injuries in the collision and pronounced the person dead at the scene. Four other people, including an infant, were injured in this accident. One person sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and paramedics requested a medical helicopter to come and airlift the victim to a trauma center. The infant was taken to a local hospital via ambulance to receive treatment, officers reported.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating this collision and working diligently to determine what exactly caused it. Officers are also planning to discover who was at fault in this fatal accident on Highway 101 in Los Alamos. They are asking that anyone with information regarding this accident, contact them as soon as possible. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles and crews worked to remove the debris from the highway so traffic could resume.
