One Injured Near Angels Camp On Highway 4 In Calaveras County

Injuries reported in South Sacramento collision.

Calaveras County, CA (June 14, 2024) The community of Calaveras County was left in shock following a two-vehicle collision that left one person with injuries. The accident took place west of Angels Camp and just east of Pool Station Road on Friday morning, June 14th. The California Highway Patrol reported that the two-vehicle crash happened at approximately 8:30 p.m.

It was early morning on Highway 4 in Calaveras County as vehicles drove along the roadway. A Tesla was driving at a high rate of speed and, according to witnesses, it passed at least five vehicles on the highway as it approached a Toyota 4Runner SUV. The Tesla suddenly slammed into the Toyota, officers reported. Both of the vehicles sustained major damage in the collision and one person sustained injuries, according to reports.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and checked the two vehicles for injured people. They found one person with injuries and let paramedics take over once they arrived at the scene. The injured party was taken to a local hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers are currently investigating this collision to determine what exactly caused this two-vehicle accident on Highway 4. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault. Police officers requested tow trucks to come to the scene and remove both of the damaged vehicles from the roadway. The highway was littered with debris that had to be cleaned from the highway before motorists could continue on that stretch of road, reports indicated.
