Long Beach, CA (June 14, 2024) A man was killed in Long Beach early this morning. He was riding his bicycle.
At around 5:05 a.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to Seventh Street and Bellflower Boulevard after hearing reports of an unconscious man laying on the south sidewalk. When the police arrived at the scene, the man, Keith Moore, was pronounced dead. He was 42.
After investigating the incident, officers determined that Moore was riding his bicycle eastbound in the number three lane of Seventh Street. Next, a vehicle struck him from behind. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, so more details about the aftermath of the impact will be revealed in time.
It’s being reported that the driver is not suspected of impaired driving, distracted driving, or speeding. It’s not known at present exactly why this terrible accident happened.
