Las Vegas, NV (June 26, 2024) A crash in the east valley of Las Vegas occurred on June 24. Four vehicles were impacted in the collision.
A little before 9 a.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the area of East Desert Inn Road and South Nellis Boulevard. Upon investigation, they discovered a complicated crash.
First, a 2021 Kia K5 was speeding northbound on Nellis Boulevard in the left travel lane. Meanwhile, a 2012 Lexus ES350 was parked in a private drive facing west on Nellis. On top of this, a 2020 Honda Civic was heading northbound on Nellis in the middle lane. A Ram 2500 truck was heading southbound on the other side of the median.
The collision was initiated when the Lexus in the private drive tried to take a right turn onto Nellis to go northbound. As it did so, the speeding Kia crashed into the left of the Lexus, spinning it around to the east where it collided with the Honda Civic. This impact caused the Kia to turn west, shoot over the raised median, and land in the opposite travel lanes, where it collided with the Ram 2500.
The chaotic crash tragically ended up in both injury and fatality. The Kia driver was sadly pronounced dead at the Sunrise Hospital, where the drivers and passengers of the Honda and Ram were also taken by ambulance for treatment. The driver of the Lexus managed to take themselves to an Urgent Care. The condition of the Honda and Ram occupants is not known at this time.
