Pedestrian Man Killed on San Jacinto Ave: Hit-and-Run

San Jacinto, CA (June 28, 2024)

A driver in San Jacinto tragically struck a pedestrian early Thursday morning. The incident took place shortly after 3 a.m. south of Shaver Street on San Jacinto Avenue.

Reports from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department state that the vehicle hit the pedestrian while they were walking in the middle of the road. It’s not clear yet if that person, a man, was trying to cross the street.

After striking the man at an unknown speed, the driver left the scene. It’s not known at this time who alerted authorities to the fact that the victim had been hit. When paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead.

The hit-and-run driver was found in the next few hours after police investigated evidence. The identity of the victim has not been released.
