Mineral County, NV (July 9, 2024)
A terrible collision on U.S. Highway 95 in Mineral County left one person tragically deceased.
The crash happened on Tuesday, July 2. A tractor-trailer rig was driving southbound and attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. It collided in violent fashion with a northbound Saturn Ion sedan.
A fire completely engulfed the sedan. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol reported that the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, which was a green Freightliner, was taken to the hospital along with their co-driver. They both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle was struck by debris from the crash, but no one in that car was injured.
The identity of the victim in the Saturn Ion has not been made public.
