Glendora, CA (July 10, 2024) Details are unfolding about a terrible two-vehicle collision that occurred in Glendora, a city in the San Gabriel Valley. It happened on July 7 at around 11:46 p.m.
It’s unclear exactly why the crash occurred, but footage from ONSCENE TV shows the two vehicles both veered off the road and onto an undeveloped hillside or even cliff.
One person was trapped inside a vehicle and one had been ejected when CHP and LA County Fire Department arrived at the scene. Both appear to be female. LAFD worked quickly to use a rescue basket to pull one victim off the cliff. The other victim was placed on a backboard, and firefighters walked her up the hillside using a nearby hiking trail.
One woman was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The other, more severely injured victim was airlifted to a local hospital.
Baldwin Park California Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances surrounding this collision.
