Signal Hill, CA (July 15, 2024)
A terrible accident occurred in the Signal Hill neighborhood of Los Angeles County near Long Beach.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, a driver hit another car at a high rate of speed in the 2800 block of Cherry Avenue.
The driver and a passenger in the vehicle that was struck were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. One of the victims was 88-year-old Sheldon Turchin. The other has only been identified as a woman in her 70s.
The driver who caused the collision was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing injury, felony hit-and-run and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
