Tahoma, CA (July 23, 2024) The community of Tahoma was shocked and saddened on Monday afternoon following tragic news. A person had been pinned between a pickup truck and a semi-truck in a local parking lot, reports indicated. Sadly, the victim did not survive. The fatal accident happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. on State Route 89 (also known as West Lake Boulevard), not far from Pine Street, officers reported.

It was Monday afternoon, July 22nd, in Tahoma, California as a male pedestrian walked through a shopping center parking lot. Suddenly, a pickup began to roll backwards as the pedestrian approached. The pickup struck the man, pushing him against a semi-truck that was parked in the parking lot. The man became pinned between the two vehicles, reports indicated.

911 calls began coming in and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the man unresponsive. Paramedics hurried to his side and began life-saving treatment, but it was too late. The man had sustained fatal injuries in the accident and, with heavy hearts, emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The two vehicles involved had collided with such force that tow trucks had to be called to remove them from the parking lot, officers reported.

Detectives at the scene began gathering evidence a and took statements from those who witnessed this traumatic accident. They are diligently working to determine what exactly happened in that Tahoma shopping center parking lot. Following the investigation, and once the damaged vehicles had been removed, crews worked to clear debris from the parking lot. This accident remains under investigation, according to reports.
