The incident occurred just before midnight on Monday, July 29th, in the 1200 block of the Pacific Coast Highway, according to reports. The driver responsible was arrested.
Just before midnight, on Monday, July 29th, a pedestrian walked along the Pacific Coast Highway in the 1200 block, heading south. A sedan approached and suddenly struck the pedestrian, according to reports. The force knocked the pedestrian several feet before they hit the ground. The driver of the sedan didn’t stop, but instead, continued driving, leaving the pedestrian on the side of the road.
The Santa Monica Police Department arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the side of the road with serious injuries. They called for an ambulance and began looking around to see if the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was still in the area. Paramedics arrived at the scene and loaded the victim into an ambulance before rushing them to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers reported that the driver of the sedan eventually returned to the scene. They arrived to find officers investigating the scene. Officers questioned the driver before arresting him, reports indicated.
