Long Beach, CA (July 31, 2024) A woman who was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Long Beach tragically passed away in the hospital.
The accident took place around 5:20 p.m. on July 20 at the intersection of Stanley Ave. and Seventh St. The pedestrian, 33-year-old Johnisha Brown, was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk. At the same time, a person in a Jeep was heading eastbound on Seventh St. Their vehicle struck the victim, leaving her with critical injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers as Brown was rushed to a hospital. On Tuesday, July 30, she succumbed to her injuries.
