Desert Hot Springs: 20-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed

2 officers struck, 1 killed and 1 injured by DUI driver in San Jose.

Desert Hot Springs, CA (August 12, 2024) A man was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of fleeing the scene after crashing into and killing a pedestrian in Desert Hot Springs.

On Friday at around 10:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of North Indian Canyon and Pierson Boulevard.

There, they tragically found a pedestrian dead in the roadway. The victim was described as a 20-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs.

Witnesses reported that a black Chevrolet Suburban was heading north when it hit the victim, who was walking south in the northbound lanes. The driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping to help.

Officers later identified the suspect and arrested him for felony hit-and-run.
