Long Beach, CA (August 16, 2024) A woman was killed and five others injured early this morning in a two-vehicle crash.
At about 12:15 a.m., Long Beach police responded to the crash at Pacific Coast Highway and Atlantic Avenue. Reports state that a woman in a Mazda heading westbound and a man in a Toyota heading northbound were traveling along when the Mazda broadsided the Toyota. It’s still unclear who had the right of way at the intersection where the crash occurred.
Both drivers were injured, as were three occupants of one of the cars. The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.
One passenger was tragically killed in the collision: 53-year-old Maria Concepcion Martinez of Long Beach. She had been trapped in the wreckage.
