Spring Valley Crash Claims 2 lives on Highway 94

Two killed, 1 injured when van slams into light pole on Highway 94 in Spring Valley.

Spring Valley, CA (August 26, 2024) Two people lost their lives in Spring Valley on Saturday evening, August 24, 2024. Another person was injured when the van they were riding in crashed into a light pole, according to reports. It happened on Highway 94, right around 6:14 p.m.

The van was driving west on Highway 94 when it drifted off the roadway and crashed into a light pole at the on-ramp to Bancroft Drive. It was approximately 6:14 p.m. and other people driving by stopped to call 911.

San Miguel Fire & Rescue sent firefighters and paramedics to the scene. They found one person inside the van with serious injuries. They rushed the victim to a local hospital to receive treatment, according to reports. Two other people were inside the van and were found unresponsive. Unfortunately, they were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives gathered evidence and are working to better understand what exactly happened to cause the van to slam into the light pole. The van had to be towed from the scene and debris and glass had to be cleaned up as well.
