14-Year-Old Anthony Lemus Killed In Indio Collision

Susan Lorraine Insch was killed in a head-on crash with a semi in Buttonwillow.

Indio, CA (September 5, 2024) The community of Indio was saddened as they learned about an accident that claimed a juvenile’s life. 14-year-old Anthony Alvarado Lemus was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday evening, September 1st, 2024. The fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Fargo Street and Indio Drive, according to reports.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision, officers reported. For reasons that remain unknown, they collided near the intersection. Officers arrived at the scene to find the three vehicles with major damage. They quickly made their way to the vehicles, ready to offer medical aid to anyone who had been injured. Sadly, they found 14-year-old Lemus deceased inside one of the vehicles. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the teenager dead at the scene.

Several others were found with injuries ranging from moderate to severe, officers reported. They were all transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Officers investigated the scene and continue to work to determine what caused this accident, as well as who was at fault. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles following the investigation.
