Red Bluff, CA (September 5, 2024) A two-vehicle collision occurred in Red Bluff on Thursday morning, September 5, 2024. The vehicles collided on State Highway 99, just after 6:00 a.m. Reports indicated that an air ambulance was requested at the scene for one victim with serious injuries.
Initial reports indicated that a Ford pickup truck and a Toyota Prius collided near the Walmart Distribution Center, located in the town of Rawson, just after 6:00 a.m. The Prius was left with severe front-end damage following the accident. Witnesses reported that a man from one of the vehicles was seen holding his chest.
Paramedics with the Tehama County Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene. Upon checking those who were injured, they requested an air ambulance to take one person with serious injuries to a trauma center. At this time, it is unknown if anyone else was injured in the accient.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol began searching for evidence at the scene. They questioned those involved in the collision, as well as witnesses at the scene. They are working to determine not only what caused this accident in Red Bluff, but who was at fault. Officers said they requested tow trucks to come to the scene and remove the damaged vehicles while crews worked to clean up the debris that littered the highway.
