Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Injured 6 In Santa Maria

Edgar C. Gonzalez killed in off-road crash in El Mirage.

Santa Maria, CA (September 12, 2024) It was a foggy morning in Santa Maria as motorists made their way through the city. A vehicle driving on Foxen Canyon Road began to roll and left six people with injuries. The early morning collision sent all 6 people to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment.

It was still dark on Thursday morning as a vehicle drove through Santa Maria. However, on this morning, a dense fog had rolled in, limiting visibility. One of the vehicles driving along Foxen Canyon Road, suddenly lost control. The vehicle began to roll before finally coming to a stop.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene and found six people inside the vehicle. All six had sustained injuries in the accident, officers reported. Firefighters stated that two patients had serious injuries, two others had moderate injuries and the last two sustained only minor injuries in the accident. All six were taken to Marian Regional to receive emergency treatment for various injuries.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is leading the investigation into this accident and believe that fog may have been a factor. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicle and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris that was left behind.
