Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Northridge

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Northridge.

Northridge, CA (September 20, 2024) A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred in Northridge on Thursday night, September 19, 2024. A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle that quickly fled the scene, officers reported. It happened near the intersection of Parthenia Street and N. Lindley Avenue right around 9:20 p.m.

Darkness covered Northridge as a bicyclist rode along Lindley Avenue. As they rode, a vehicle approached from the south, and struck the bicyclist. The impact knocked the rider from the bike and the driver of the vehicle immediately fled the scene, leaving the bicyclist with fatal injuries. Officers reported that after the vehicle fled the scene, several other vehicles struck the bicyclist.

The Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground, deceased. Sadly, they pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene and requested a coroner. Officers gathered evidence and are working to determine what type of vehicle struck the rider and fled the scene. They are determined to find the at fault vehicle and bring the driver responsible to justice.
