The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground. They rushed to the victim’s side, ready to administer life-saving treatment, but there was nothing they could do. The pedestrian had been killed in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner arrived at the scene and officers investigated in an effort to better understand what exactly happened. The victim was identified as Chi Tan Wong, a 79-year-old from Hacienda Heights.
