Laguna Niguel, CA (October 13, 2024) A DUI collision in Laguna Niguel left 21-year-old Christian Bedolla with serious injuries on Tuesday night, October 8th, 2024. The accident occurred at Crown Valley Parkway and Cabot Road at a high speed. Bedolla was left with several broken bones and a serious brain injury, according to reports.
21-year-old Christian Bedolla, a Orange County Fire Authority Cadet, had beat a rare form of lymphoma and is working to become a firefighter, according to his family. On the night of October 8th, 2024, Bedolla was driving through a green light at Crown Valley Parkway and Cabot Road, when a vehicle suddenly came speeding through the red light. The two vehicles collided, sending debris in every direction.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two badly damaged vehicles blocking the roadway. They hurried to the vehicles, ready to give medical aid to anyone in need and found Bedolla with critical injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to police reports.
The driver of the other vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol, reports indicated. Officers arrested the 20-year-old driver and he remains in jail on $75,000 bail.
The two vehicles were hauled from the scene by tow trucks and it took crews a while to remove the glass and debris from the intersection, officers reported. Christian Bedolla’s family has created a GoFundMe account to help cover the mounting medical bills he faces, following this accident.
