Carlie Whitlatch Killed In Crash 13 Days After Wedding

Banning, CA (October 15, 2024) On Friday, a tragic collision in Banning killed a woman, Carlie Rose Whitlatch, who had just gotten married less than two weeks ago.

23-year-old Whitlatch was reportedly driving home from work that evening and was sitting at a stop sign. Suddenly, a motorist behind her came up at around 95 mph, slamming into her vehicle.

Officials said that they attempted to pull the driver over, leading to a chase as the motorist drove on the wrong side of the road and fled. They were eventually caught, treated for minor injuries, and arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The Whitlatch family is devastated, including her husband, Adam, whom she had only married 13 days prior to the crash. Adam told ABC 7 of the driver who hit Carlie, “He took literally everything from me. I planned to grow old with her, I planned to have kids with her…planned to buy a house.”

Carlie’s mother, Buenita Shoemaker, told ABC 7, “She had the most beautiful blue eyes, huge smile and the biggest heart.”

The family has organized a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
