Hollywood, CA (October 16, 2024) A tragic pedestrian accident occurred in East Hollywood on Tuesday morning, October 15th, 2024. At approximately 6:00 a.m., a male pedestrian was struck and killed while walking along the northbound Hollywood 101 Freeway, not far from Vermont Avenue.

Traffic was beginning to pick up on Tuesday morning as a male pedestrian walked along the northbound Hollywood 101 Freeway. As he walked, they were struck by a vehicle. The impact sent the pedestrian several feet into the air before he landed on the roadway, reports indicated.

Officers quickly arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground, unresponsive. There were ready to begin life-saving measures, but the man had been killed in the collision. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

The accident is being investigated as officers work to determine what exactly happened on that stretch of freeway in Hollywood. They had to close two of the northbound lanes while they investigated the scene, according to reports.
