Man In Wheelchair Struck, Killed On Antelope Blvd. In Red Bluff

Wendy Coffman, 60, struck and killed by hit-and-run driver in Fresno.

Red Bluff, CA (October 23, 2024) The community of Red Bluff was saddened and shocked as news spread of an accident that claimed a wheelchair bound man’s life. The man was struck by a vehicle on Antelope Boulevard just before 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024.

Initial reports indicated that a 64-year-old man was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Antelope Boulevard in a motorized wheelchair. Suddenly, the wheelchair was struck, head-on, by a Ford SUV. The impact knocked the man to the ground and left the wheelchair in a dented heap. The driver of the SUV immediately stopped, blocking the #2 lane of eastbound Antelope Boulevard.

The Red Bluff Police Department quickly arrived at the scene and found the man on the ground. They immediately began life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the victim’s injuries were too severe. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene and called for a coroner.

The 41-year-old SUV driver cooperated with authorities during their investigation. They do not believe that intoxication was a factor in this collision. The accident remains under investigation by the Red Bluff Police Department.
