2-Vehicle Crash Leaves 3 Seriously Injured In Victorville

Three injured in 2-vehicle collision in Victorville caused by fleeing vehicle.

Victorville, CA (October 27, 2024) A two-vehicle collision in Victorville left three people seriously injured on Friday night, October 25th. The collision occurred at the intersection of Amethyst Road and La Mesa Road, just before 9:00 p.m.

A Nissan Rogue SUV and a Mercedes-Benz collided at the intersection of Amethyst Road and La Mesa Road in Victorville on Friday night. Immediately following the collision, one of the vehicle caught on fire, officers reported. Within seconds, the entire engine compartment was completely engulfed in flames.

Victorville City Fire arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles, one of which was on fire. They quickly extinguished the flames and checked for anyone inside who was injured. Reports indicated that they found 3 people from both vehicles who had sustained serious injuries in the collision. Paramedics took all three victims to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.

However, one of the injured, 24-year-old Osvaldo Languren Barraga, had caused the accident by driving recklessly in an attempt to flee a previous crime. Officers reported that he had been involved in a car shooting minutes before the accident. He was placed under arrest at Desert Valley Hospital.
