3-Year-Old Tragically Struck, Killed In Fremont

3-year-old struck, killed in Fremont parking lot.

Fremont, CA (October 30, 2024) The community of Fremont is saddened as word spread of a 3-year-old child’s death. The child was struck and killed by a vehicle around 11:45 a.m. in the area of Colleen Terrace and Dunsmuir Common. Tragically, the child died at the scene.

It was a late October morning in Fremont when dispatchers received a 911 call about a child that had been struck by a vehicle. The accident occurred in a parking lot, just before noon. Reports indicated that a vehicle began backing out of a parking spot and didn’t see the 3-year-old. The left side of the vehicle hit the child as it back out, officers reported. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and remained at the scene until police officers arrived.

Emergency personnel arrived and began life-saving treatment on the child, but it was too late. The 3-year-old had been killed in the accident and, with heavy hearts, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation as officers work to determine exactly what happened in that Fremont parking lot. A spokesperson with the Fremont Police Department stated that the entire community is mourning this tragic loss.
