18-Year-Old James Unfreed Killed In Pleasant Hill Motorcycle Crash

James Unfreed, 18, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Pleasant Hill.

Pleasant Hill, CA (November 4th, 2024) Sadness fell over the community of Pleasant Hill following the death of a young motorcyclist on October 23rd, 2024. 18-year-old James Unfreed was killed in a collision between his motorcycle and another vehicle at approximately 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Dexter Drive and Contra Costa Boulevard.

Unfreed was heading north on Contra Costa Boulevard when a southbound vehicle made a left turn onto Dexter Drive. The vehicle turned directly in front of Unfreed’s motorcycle, according to reports, causing the motorcycle to collide with the vehicle. Unfreed was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive.

Emergency personnel arrived and found Unfreed on the ground with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to John Muir Medical Center’s Truama Unit in Walnut Creek to receive emergency medical care. Although the medical team did everything they could, Unfreed succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
