FRESNO, CA (October 5, 2022) – Adela Santana-Mullooly, 51, was tragically killed in a bicycle accident after being struck by a car on Watts Valley Road.
According to ABC 30, 47-year-old Johnson Chang was driving around a curve and veered into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons when he struck Santana on her bike.
Adela Santana-Mullooly is being remembered by her community for being a beloved instructor at Fresno State and Clovis Community College.
Fresno State University issued the following statement:
“In addition to being a long-time, valued colleague in the Anthropology Department at Fresno State, Dr. Santana-Mullooly was an avid cyclist and a vibrant presence. Our thoughts are with Adela’s step-daughter, step-son, son and twin boys as well as her husband.”
Clovis Community College says it is offering support services for those impacted by the loss of Santana.
