Oroville, CA (October 27, 2023) A bicyclist was struck and killed on Wednesday night, October 25th, in Oroville. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened on State Route 70 not too far from the Oroville Dam Boulevard/Highway 162 off-ramp.

The accident was reported shortly before 10:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The initial report was that a gray pickup truck hit a bicyclist while they were riding on Highway 70.
The California Highway Patrol and the Butte County Fire Department responded to the call. Paramedics with the BCFD were prepared to help the injured bike rider, but pronounced him dead at the scene, upon arrival.
Authorities are still not sure what exactly happened on Highway 70 to cause this accident. Investigators have been working the scene to get the details on what happened to cause this fatal accident.
