Lancaster, CA (August 15, 2024) A bicyclist was killed on Monday night after being hit by a vehicle in Lancaster, according to California Highway Patrol. It happened on Avenue L not far from 42nd Street West around 10:50 p.m.
The CHP stated that the bicyclist was riding eastward down Avenue L when a 2012 Chevrolet came down the road in the same direction as the bike. The driver of the Chevy was a 24-year-old man from Lancaster. California Highway Patrol said the driver hit the bicyclist “for unknown reasons.”

The driver of the Chevrolet wasn’t injured, but pulled over and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. They later died while at the hospital.
Alcohol and drug use his not suspected in this collision. The cause of the collision, however, is being investigated.
