Fresno, CA (September 6, 2023) A bicyclist was critically injured on Tuesday evening after being hit by a train. The Fresno Police Department said the accident happened a little before 6:00 p.m.

Reports state that the bicyclist tried to cross the railroad tracks at the last minute, in an attempt to beat the train. They didn’t make it across the tracks in time and were hit by the train. The bicyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Officers were called to Olive Avenue, east of Blackstone, for a collision involving a train and a bicyclist. The bicyclist was hospitalized.
