Victorville, CA (October 3, 2024) A bicyclist sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Old Town Victorville on Tuesday night, October 1st. The accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Street and D Street. Officers reported that the accident happened across the street from the Transportation Center.
A blue Honda was driving through Old Town, near the intersection of Fourth Street and D Street, as it approached someone on a turquoise bike. The Honda suddenly struck the bicycle, sending the rider over the hood and slamming into the windshield, before rolling back onto the ground. The driver immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive.
Upon arrival, officers found the Honda with a dented hood and cracked windshield. The bicycle was lying in the eastbound lanes of the roadway with a mangled tire, according to reports. Officers hurried to the rider who was on the ground. They began medical assistance and paramedics rushed them to a Victor Valley Global Medical Center. The rider was then airlifted to a trauma center.
Officers continue to investigate this accident, in an effort to determine what exactly caused it. They are also working to figure out who was responsible for this bicycle collision in Old Town Victorville.
