Orange, CA (October 20, 2023) A 73-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed in Orange on Thursday, October 19th, according to the Orange Fire Department. The accident occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Skylark Place and Canyon View Avenue.
A Volkswagen Jetta was heading east on Canyon View when it struck a cyclist in the intersection. The bicyclist, identified only as a 73-year-old man, was riding north in the crosswalk on Skylark Place when he was struck.

Emergency crews arrived to find the bicyclist with fatal injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman who was driving the Jetta, also an Orange resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this accident.
The Traffic Unit responded to the scene and is in charge of the investigation.
