A bicyclist lost her life when she was struck by a vehicle on Livorna Road. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 11:12 a.m. under the 680 Freeway overpass, officers reported.
A woman was riding a bicycle on Livorna Road in Alamo, heading west, late on Wednesday morning, October 9th. As she rode, a black Toyota bZ3X was parked on the shoulder of the road. As she passed the parked vehicle, it suddenly pulled onto the road, hitting the bicyclist in the process. The impact knocked the woman from her bike under the 680 Freeway overpass.
The area was suddenly filled with sirens as emergency vehicles rushed to the scene. They found the woman on the ground, her bicycle dented and destroyed on the ground near her. Authorities hurried to her side, prepared to administer life-saving treatments, but found she had been killed in the accident. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities, and the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Division was called.
