SAN CLEMENTE, CA (June 10, 2022) – Joshua Gene Cervantes, 40, was on an electric bicycle when he was killed in a hit-and-run crash in San Clemente according to OC Register.
The collision occurred early Tuesday morning around 1:25 a.m. on Avenida La Pata and Avenida Pico when he was fatally hit by a vehicle whose driver is still on the run.
Orange County sheriff’s officers say that they arrived on the scene to find Joshua Gene Cervantes with head and neck injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers found pieces of the vehicle near the accident scene and located the empty vehicle nearby. The driver’s whereabouts are unknown as police search for the killer.
Details surrounding the accident are still unknown, and anyone with information should contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
