Georgetown, CA (October 11, 2023) 49-year-old Justin Aitkens was hit by a car on Sunday night while riding a bicycle. An altercation took place between Aitkens and the driver, David Miller, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Orleans Street in Georgetown.

Aitkens was riding his bike south on Orleans Street when David Miller, 19, from Georgetown, who was driving north, hit Aitkens. The accident led to an altercation between the two involved. The collision damaged the windshield of Miller’s black 2008 Infiniti G35. Aitkens sustained a broken leg, a broken nose, and multiple lacerations to the face, according to officials.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to the scene and the California Highway Patrol arrived as well. The collision is not suspected to be a result of DUI, according to California Highway Patrol officer, Hugh Council. The collision is still under investigation.
